La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall'isola d'Alcina is a story centred on a battle between two sorceresses, Alcina and Melissa, over the warrior knight. Meanwhile, the Sofa is a story about a hero named Dominic who is turned into a sofa by his grandmother for his immoral behaviour.
A brochure as well as tickets which included postcards were designed for the opera. The double header shared strong themes of magic and entrapment. This theme of magic was physically represented by moire patterns created with acetate sleeves for the brochure and ticket set. While the viewer plays with the moire pattern they are then lost in the design, which represents the theme of entrapment.
